About the Pocono Mountains
The Pocono Mountains experiences four distinct seasons - white winters, crisp springs, balmy summers and colorful autumns - with a unique climate and corresponding outdoor activities for each.
The average annual snowfall is about 50" and the hottest day rarely exceeds 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The warmest month of the year is July, while winter hits its peak in January.

This year's theme is Under the Sea! The Pocono Mountains coolest winter event, now in its ninth season, it's an amazing interactive ice display made from over 100 tons of ice! The event features a 50-foot dual-run ice slide, ice carving demonstrations, interactive ice displays, and ice carving competitions. Enjoy a complimentary hot chocolate and wine tasting provided by Antler Ridge Winery. The expanded courtyard has live woodcarving and glass blowing, food, music, and tons of photo opportunities. Alpine Mountain invites members and the public to take part in the 1st Annual Snow Tubing Race. Teams of four will be pitted against another team of their choosing in a snowy race down Alpine Mountain. The 1st Annual Snow Tube Race will benefit the Pocono Alliance and Second Harvest Food Band. Prizes will be awarded to teams for the fastest times and most creative team spirit. Teams can register online at www.PoconoAlliance.org. More
