POCONO MOUNTAINS HOSPITALITY SCHOLARSHIP GOLF TOURNAMENT A SUCCESS
POCONO MOUNTAINS, Pa., July 9, 2009 - The PA CareerLink, in partnership with the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau (PMVB), held their annual Hospitality Scholarship Golf Tournament on Wednesday, July 1 at Skytop Lodge in the Pocono Mountains. This tournament is designed to provide scholarships to area students majoring in Hospitality and Tourism.
"This provides the Pocono Mountains tourism industry the opportunity to encourage students to embark upon an education in the hospitality field, helping us to build a better educated workforce," said Carl Wilgus, president and CEO of the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau (PMVB).
The tournament consisted of 96 registered golfers. Awards were given for closet to pin, longest drive and a putting contest, as well as first in each of three flights. Winners were:
Championship Flight (59) – Adams Outdoor; Kevin Madrakowsky, Mike Reynolds, Sal Lombardo, James Mack
2nd Flight (67) – Five Star Printing; Daryl Berger, Dave Eilenberger, Joe Flyzik, Doug Smith
3rd Flight (72) – Goodwill Industries; Gerry Langan, Ren Major, Dick Davidson, Mike Langan
Longest Drive - Men's, Matt Magda, Mount Airy Casino and Resort
