TRAVEL CHANNEL TO HIGHLIGHT POCONO MOUNTAINS AS ONE OF THE MOST "MANLY MAN ADVENTURES" IN THE WORLD
POCONO MOUNTAINS, PA, February 26, 2009 – Gear up and head into battle! The Pocono Mountains region is proud to announce that Skirmish Paintball's "Invasion of Normandy" game has been selected as one of the most "Manly Man Adventure Vacations" by the Travel Channel and will be featured as part of their "21" series airing on their network Thursday, March 5, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. Click here to see the spot.
Skirmish USA is ranked 8th, out of 21, most "Manly Man Adventure Vacations" in the world, joining an elite group of destinations selected by the Travel Channel, in conjunction with City Lights Media Group. The "21" series are one-hour episodes that encompass a wish list of 21 must-do's and must-see's in your lifetime.
"It's no surprise that we're ranked so highly when you consider the combination of the region's adventurous outdoor recreation along with the unparalleled natural beauty that make up this destination," said Carl Wilgus, President & CEO of Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau.
Skirmish's "Invasion of Normandy" scenario is hosted every July and re-creates the fateful landing of Allied troops on the German held beaches of Normandy. Two teams, The Allies and Germans, battle from the Normandy beach-front to the villages of France in effort to complete a series of missions which are rewarded in points. The team receiving the most points at the end of the weekend wins the game.
The "Invasion of Normandy" game at Skirmish is considered to be the largest paintball game in the world and is host to over 4,000 players. Normandy is not just a game...it's an experience you'll never forget and that's one of the reasons it has been selected by the Travel Channel as one of the top "21 Manly Man Adventures" in the entire world.
