Last weekend, I tried something I'd never done before – I went tubing. It was a beautiful day at Alpine Mountain. The slopes were busy, but not crowded. The three of us grabbed our tubes and hooked up to the lift.

The excitement was building as we climbed the hill. Whizzing by head were snowballs fashioned mostly from ice, luckily none of them hit their mark. We were now at the top, lining up in our own lanes and getting ready for our first race. The speeds reached on that first ride were surprisingly fast. But you soon realize that the danger is low - thus the appeal of snowtubing.  You can reach high speeds on icy conditions but as long as you sit in your tube, you're safe.  We all had a great time at Alpine that day, and we will definitely go back.

The early winter months bring snow, ice, and oh yeah -- consumer trade shows. We call this time "show season", and many of us at the PMVB will be exhibiting at select shows across the country. The biggest show on my winter schedule is the upcoming Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, PA.

This outdoor show is, of course, the biggest, baddest show of them all. It is once again being held at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg. The dates are February 7-15, 2009. There are way too many names to mention here, but look for outdoor celebrities like Michael Waddell, Larry Weishuhn, and the Lakoskys at this year's show. This show is the absolute mecca in terms of meeting the right people and getting the right information. It's as entertaining as it gets. I'll be at the booth with the racecar in it, as the PMVB and Pocono Raceway team up in this year's booth. Get your tickets online. I'll see you there!
