This Weekend in the Pocono Mountains

Let the Pocono Mountains fall foliage fascinate you. Whether you're spending your Columbus Day weekend outdoors at a festival or driving to your favorite Pocono Mountains dining spot, there is one thing you can't help but notice, the dazzling colors of the leaves. Get some friends together or get the family out of the house and make it a fall foliage themed-weekend in the Pocono Mountains!

Check out the 37th Annual Arts and Crafts Festival at Jack Frost Mountain, this Saturday and Sunday, October 10-11 from 10am-5pm. The festival features artisans exhibiting everything from fine art to country and contemporary crafts. The jewelry is a must see, from Penny Common beaded jewelry to Barbara Knelly fused glass jewelry. You'll be amazed at the detail of each piece. Want a complete list of vendors? Click here. Tickets for the festival can be purchased at the gate for $3, children 12 and under are free.

Nominated as one of America's Top Ten Coolest Small Towns by the readers of Budget Travel Magazine, visit Jim Thorpe this weekend for the first of three Fall Foliage Weekends! On October 10-11, enjoy an exciting combination of arts and crafts vendors, food, free music, shopping and dining specials. With vendors like these, you're sure to find some amazing things! The music performances will appeal to everyone with a mix of performers ranging from bands like Wandering Root to Faculty Brass.

Love classic cars? Or are scarecrows more your thing? Head to East Stroudsburg for the Annual Scarecrow Festival! Bring the whole family and create one-of-a- kind scarecrows! Once you're finished with your scarecrow, head on over to Stroudsburg for the Auto's in Autumn car show! The car show will feature cars from DWG Classic Car Club, Keystone Region MG Club, Porsche Club of America, and TriCounty Corvettes. As you stroll through the cars on display, enjoy music broadcasting throughout town.

Make your way to the 23rd Annual Hawley Fall Foliage Antique Show and Sale at the Ritz Company Playhouse. The day starts off with a Patron's Preview & Harvest Tea with catered seasonal refreshments.  Admission to the Patron's Preview is $6. Antique Show & Sale hours are 10am - 6pm on Saturday, 11am - 5pm on Sunday with an admission of $3.50. A dozen reputable dealers will present a wide variety of antiques for your viewing pleasure or purchase. Find your diamond in the rough!

With so much to do in the Pocono Mountains this Columbus Day weekend, what will you choose to do? I myself will be admiring the beautiful backdrop at one of these fantastic fall festivals. Hope to see you around the mountains!
