Got the need for speed?  Well then, ladies and gentlemen, start your engines!  The Pennsylvania 500 Sprint Cup Race weekend at Pocono Raceway is here.  Feel the roar of the engines, smell the asphalt and let the adrenaline rush.  The race weekend starts Friday with cool events leading to the race on Sunday.  Never thought of going to a race before?  I highly recommend it.  You just don't realize the raw power of the cars until you see them in person.  It's an experience I will never forget.

Speed not your thing?  Head up to Honesdale to the Stourbridge Line for the Great Train Robbery Run.  The excursion will be held on Saturday, August 1. The train will depart at 1pm.  This 3 ½ hour round-trip from Honesdale to Hawley is great for the whole family.

Maybe tours and sightseeing is more your thing.  Head down to Jim Thorpe and visit the Manor at Opera House Square for Defeo's Manor Tour.  This beautiful Queen Anne, Victorian Style Home, circa 1880, is open for tours, with free admission.

As for me, my weekend plans are still up in the air.  The weekend weather is looking pretty awesome…for now, so I'm thinking some outdoor adventure is in order.  Be sure to check back next week to find out where my weekend adventures take me and to see what events are coming up.  Hope to see you around the mountains.
