Profile: My name is Gillian and I am thrilled to be blogging! I am a self-proclaimed news nerd who references her AP Stylebook at least once a day, which makes me a perfect fit for my current position of Public Relations Coordinator here at the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau (PMVB). My typical daily occurrences include fulfilling media requests, pitching media outlets, arranging press trips, disseminating social feeds, drafting press releases, writing editorials and planning events… and that’s just my morning! As a recent graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and daughter to alumni, I am naturally obsessed with Penn State football (GO STATE!). My other passions include CNN, chocolate donut flavored coffee, puppies... and of course boss lady’s cat, Izzy! Prior to my position at the PMVB, I gained experience at a broadcasting company and a PR agency specializing in travel and hospitality. As the PR Personality, the majority of my blogs will be discussing happenings from the PR office including media highlights, story ideas, Pocono Mountains events, featured press trips and much more, so tune in and see what I'm up to every Friday.
