Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark will celebrate Independence Day with star-spangled style. Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark's annual Fireworks display is scheduled for 9:30pm. The second rubber duck race of the season will launch at 3pm, this time benefiting The Sherman Theater's Fine Arts Discovery Series. Local favorites, The Maybabies, will strum through the transition from duck race to fireworks, as they are scheduled to hit the stage at 5pm. All events, except the purchase of a duck, are included with regular waterpark admission. After 5pm a $10 per car parking fee will be collected and donated to the Pocono Township Volunteer Fire Company. Ducks can be purchased for $20. Rain date is scheduled for July 5.

A delicious Hickory Licks barbecue is planned. “The Best Show in the Poconos" a full one half hour fireworks display will be at dusk presented by the Castiglione Fireworks Display Company. The program "Backyard Biology" seeks to develop their interests even further and act as a catalyst for life-long learning. "Backyard Biology" will be held on Wednesdays at 10:30am. All anglers interested in landing a monster trout and winning one of 100 prizes should be fishing the Lackawaxen River. In addition to the thousands of fish stocked by the PA Fish and Boat Commission, the Lackawaxen Township Business Owners Association will stock 100 five to ten pound trout between The Settler's Inn in Hawley and the Zane Gray Bridge in Lackawaxen. This is the third year for the hugely successful Monster Trout Derby. There is no entry fee or pre-sign up. Just go fishing, get lucky and win a prize. All fish are tagged and the tag numbers corresponds with each fish's sponsor.
