ELDCPS will be running special round-trip rail excursions between downtown Scranton and the historic Moscow, PA station. Enjoy a train ride in their comfortable climate-controlled passenger cars from Scranton to the historic Moscow train station. While there, the LWV Railway Historical Society will entertain you and your kids with crafts and other fun activities to celebrate the holiday season. Passengers will be able to tour the former passenger and freight depots at Moscow, and take photos with the train crew, Santa, and winter displays. Hot dogs, hot chocolate and snacks will be available for purchase. After visiting the station, climb back aboard the train for the return trip to Scranton. Each rider, regardless of age, must have a ticket. There is no smoking on the train.

In cooperation with the Delaware-Lackawanna Railroad and the Wayne County Historical Society, we will be running special round-trip rail excursions between downtown Scranton and the historic Gouldsboro, PA station. Enjoy a train ride on our comfortable climate-controlled passenger cars from Scranton out to Gouldsboro and return. The train will stop at the historic Gouldsboro station for everyone to have the opportunity to explore the restored station. At the station, passengers will enter the Dickensian world of A Christmas Carol with volunteers dressed in period-authentic costumes, featuring a visit from Santa, Scrooge, and his ghostly visitors. Fresh homemade foods and beverages will also be available at the station. Proceeds from these excursions will go towards the restoration and operation of our historical dining and passenger cars, and the restoration projects of the Wayne County Historical Society. Each rider ages 4 and up must have a ticket. There is no smoking on the train.

The family tradition continues for The Coal Country Christmas Carol Radio Show at the historic Mauch Chunk Opera House in Jim Thorpe! This year, there is even more magic, music, and fun. A DICKENSIAN HOLIDAY EXPRESS EXCURSION

In cooperation with the Delaware-Lackawanna Railroad and the Wayne County Historical Society, we will be running special round-trip rail excursions between downtown Scranton and the historic Gouldsboro, PA station. Enjoy a train ride on our comfortable climate-controlled passenger cars from Scranton out to Gouldsboro and return. The train will stop at the historic Gouldsboro station for everyone to have the opportunity to explore the restored station. At the station, passengers will enter the Dickensian world of A Christmas Carol with volunteers dressed in period-authentic costumes, featuring a visit from Santa, Scrooge, and his ghostly visitors. Fresh homemade foods and beverages will also be available at the station. Proceeds from these excursions will go towards the restoration and operation of our historical dining and passenger cars, and the restoration projects of the Wayne County Historical Society. Each rider ages 4 and up must have a ticket. There is no smoking on the train.

The Santa Train will start from the historic Delaware Water Gap station, pickup additional passengers at the historic Dansbury Depot in East Stroudsburg, and then travel through the Brodhead Creek Valley to Cresco, PA. After departing East Stroudsburg, Santa Claus will pass through the train to visit with all of the children, while his helpers distribute gifts to each child under 12. After changing direction in Cresco, the train will return first to the Delaware Water Gap station to unload, followed by the East Stroudsburg station. Event is held in cooperation with the Eastburg Community Alliance and Delaware Water Gap Station Preservation Partnership.
