Outdoor Adventure

The Lehigh River Sojourn is an educational whitewater rafting, canoeing or kayaking trip down the Lehigh River. You will experience all of the treasures of nature - scenic views, visits from resident wildlife, and amazing recreational opportunities. The trip stretches from the rapids of the Lehigh Gorge and ends in the calming waters in Northampton. Fees include campsite, shuttle service, delicious meals, education programs, and entertainment for each day registered. Participants have the option of registering for one or multiple days. Proceeds benefit Wildlands Conservancy. Day one camping will be held at Mauch Chunk Lake Park. Please call for more information.

The Sojourn is a eight-day guided paddling trip on the wild and scenic Delaware River, combining canoeing/kayaking, camping, educational programs, historical interpretation, and more. It is for novice to experienced paddlers of all ages; participants can sign up for the whole event or for the section(s) or day(s) of their choice.

Somewhere in the depths of Lake Wallenpaupack a largemouth bass, walleye, or rainbow trout may be swimming with a $1 million tag and waiting for a juicy worm as part of the nationwide Fish for Millions Contest sponsored by Cabela's, a leading outfitter of hunting, fishing, and outdoor equipment. Participants must be registered to win. The contest will run until July 7, 2013.

Come learn to swim and be part of the Guinness Book of World Records. The participant (in the water for the lesson) and one chaperone will be given a complimentary admittance to Camelbeach for the day (valid June 18th only). The 2013 Carbon US FLOW Tour will make its annual stop at Camelbeach. Competitors will show their skills on the FlowRider, a machine designed to simulate a never-ending surfing wave.

Tour the Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm property over hill and dale, past the farm ponds, pastures, apple orchards, and historical buildings. The course has varying surfaces including grass, dirt, gravel, and paved roads. Register by June 29 to be guaranteed a t-shirt. Awards will take place at 10am.
