Description:
In 1784 Col. Jacob Weiss purchased 700 acres between what is now Parryille and Long Run. In 1972 the town of Lehighton was planned west of the Lehigh River. The new town was named after the Lehigh River, which is derived from the Indian word Lecla" of left fork of the river."

Follow for 6 miles, to Exit Lehighton/Route 209, follow for 23 miles and turn right onto East Bridge Street/Route 209, follow for .8 mile and turn left onto North 1st Street/Route 209 follow .3 mile and turn right onto South Street/Route 209 follow .1 mile.
