Social Media

Our Social Media Coordinator, Brittany Berger, recently attended the 2011 Symposium on the Use of Social Media in the Tourism Industry in Tunica, MS. It included tourism focused presentations and panel discussions on the impact of social media in the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries. Contact Brittany to learn more.

We are launching another seasonal Facebook promotion this winter, entitled Life's Greater at the Top. It is a fan acquisition promotion involving different tiers of prizes and will be the main focus of the PMVB Facebook fan page. If your ski area is interested in becoming involved and getting additional details, contact Brittany Berger.

Status Report:
Facebook- 12,691 Likes, increased 2% in two weeks
Twitter- 1,703 Followers, increased 1% in two weeks

Social Tips:
~ In a recent study by Forrester, it was determined that Facebook was the most popular social network for all ages. Unlike LinkedIn and Twitter, which rank just behind it in popularity, Facebook showed no generational gap in its users. Also found younger users likely to be the most active of any for each of the social networks.

~ Build your social media fan base by reaching out to your current customers; people who already "like" your business in real life. Examples: Run a promotion on Facebook, then include it in other mediums that reach your non-Facebook fans, such as in your next e-news, on table tent displays, countertop signs, etc.
