The Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau today announces that the area's golf courses are open, or preparing to open, for the 2008 season. Weather permitting, golfers can enjoy the Pocono Mountains: Discover Golf’s Great Destination Secret courses, which range from challenging tracks that test the lowest handicappers to beginner-friendly courses and everything in between.
03/06/2008 PMVB AND CAREERLINK TO HOLD POCONO MOUNTAINS HOSPITALITY SCHOLARSHIP GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Pocono Mountains Hospitality Scholarship Golf Tournament has been brought back for 2008, hosted in a new partnership venture by the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau (PMVB) and PA CareerLink of Monroe County. The golf tournament, which benefits local students accepted into tourism and hospitality degree programs, will be held on Monday, June 30, 2008 at Skytop Lodge, Skytop, Pennsylvania.
01/30/2008 Tee it Up for an Icy Round of Golf in the Pocono Mountains

Unfortunately, this event has been cancelled due to unsafe ice conditions. For one winter day, the snow and cold will no longer be obstacles to enjoying a round of golf. The Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau today announces the 19th Annual Ice-Tee Golf Tournament. Scheduled for February 24, 2008, participants will tee it up for nine holes of golf atop frozen Lake Wallenpaupack.

11/06/2007 Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau Names New Executive Director

The Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau announces Carl Wilgus has been named the new executive director. Wilgus, an industry veteran who is currently state tourism director and assistant deputy director of the Idaho Department of Commerce, takes over for the retiring Robert Uguccioni, who has been PMVB executive director for 40 years.
