Visiting Journalists Programs

Thank you for your interest in the Poconos. We want to make sure you have everything you need to plan your next visit to the Pocono Mountains.

The Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau's Visiting Journalist Program assists travel journalists in developing itineraries and facilitating visits to attractions, cultural venues and other points of interest covered in articles, books and broadcasts.

We receive a considerable number of requests from journalists seeking legitimate media privileges. As a result and to most effectively meet your editorial, photographic and/or broadcast needs, we ask your cooperation in following these journalist guidelines:

• A minimum of three business weeks notice for a press visit once we have received all your credentialing information. This allows us to pursue suitable, available lodging and make other arrangements to enhance your visit.
• Send a letter of assignment on letterhead from the media outlet you are representing.
• Freelance journalists, please forward recent examples of travel or travel-related feature coverage.  Documentation can be in the form of print clippings with your byline or a DVD/CD of coverage you have previously produced.
• Complete the visiting journalists request form.
• Immediately notify us of a change in plans.

Note: Complimentary arrangements are provided at the discretion of the host businesses and are subject to availability. Black-out periods may be experienced throughout the year that may necessitate a press rate, especially at hotels. The Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau cannot provide airfare for your trip, nor can it pay for ground transportation (a list of companies offering rental car media rates can be provided upon request), accommodations, attraction passes or meals.

Please understand that our primary concern is assisting working press. Host locations are not always able to accommodate spouses, children and visitors accompanying working press.
