Open Mic Night Thursdays

The open mic is hosted by Strange Brews Coffee Shop every Thursday night. Musicians, poets, writers, performers, and comedians are encouraged to attend. This is a family friend event, so no cussing is allowed. Open Mic Night Thursdays will be held from 5-8pm.

Brain Freeze Trivia

Brain Freeze Trivia with host Gary Smith of Gary Internet Radio, is the popular version of bar trivia from the company that created World Tavern Poker. It is open to individuals and teams of up to six players. There is no fee to play or cover charge to enter Wintergreens. Brain Freeze Trivia runs every Wednesday. Registration begins at 5:30pm and the first trivia round begins at 6:30pm.

NASTAR

Nastar is a recreational race series for all ages. The race is a modified Giant Slalom Course. It is a way for racers to gauge themselves against racers from around the country. Medals are awarded. A racer can choose to do two runs for $5 of unlimited runs for $15 each race day. Races will be held Thursday evenings 6:30-8:30pm. Registration starts at 6:30pm at the top of Raceway.

A Wee Bit 'O the Irish

An original musical revue of hit music, authentic Irish dancing, laugh out loud comedy, and the funniest Irish wake in history. A Wee Bit 'O the Irish is high-spirited entertainment for all audiences to enjoy. Tickets are $18/adult, $15/discounted, and $10/children 17 and under. Performances will be held at 2pm on Friday and Sunday and 8pm on Friday and Saturday.

Johnny Maestro and The Brooklyn Bridge

After making a name for himself as lead singer of the Crests with hits like Sixteen Candles and Trouble in Paradise, vocalist Johnny Maestro formed Brooklyn Bridge in 1968 and scored a gold record the next year with their recording of the heartbroken Worst That Could Happen. Brooklyn Bridge was an amalgam of Maestro, the Del Satins and a brassy outfit called the Rhythm Method. Tickets for the show are $30. Doors open at 7:30pm and the show will begin at 8pm.

Mystery Birding Field Trip

Join Environmental Education Brian Hardiman on this birding trip to destinations to be determined by pre-trip scouting and local reports. Target birds in the past have included northern shrikes, various raptors including wintering nesting owls, a host of waterfowl, and early spring migrants. A nice mixed bag of avian goodies can be anticipated. The cost is $20/non-member and $14/EE member and includes van transportation. Participants will meet at MCEEC at 8:30am and return approximately 5:30pm. Pre-registration and payment are required and limited. Participants should pack lunch, binoculars, and dress appropriately for weather.

The Tartan Terrors

The Tartan Terror shows at the Opera House during Jim Thorpe's St. Patrick's Day Weekend are some of the most sought-after in our program and it's not hard to see why. North America's premier Celtic comedy group, the Tartans' mix of music, comedy and theater make for a thoroughly entertaining and uplifting evening. Tickets are $28/upper balcony and $33. Doors open at 7:30pm and the show will begin at 8:30pm.

Scout Day Maple Sugar Event

A special day in the Sugarbush has been planned for scout troops. The day will feature a tour of the Sugarbush including stops to learn about Native American and early pioneer methods of making syrup, the evaporator process and methods of identifying and tapping a maple tree. After the tour, everyone will get a chance to taste some of the syrup on freshly made pancakes. The cost is $5/adults and $3/for scouts and children under 12. Programs can be scheduled between 9am through 2pm and are open to any level of scouts and their families. Pre-registration is required.

Sugar Shack Scramble/Orienteering

Triple Threat

Triple Threat is a Freestyle Competition - Rail Jam, sponsored by Army & Navy , Whitehall. Helmets required. 17 years and under require a parents signature on Race Release Form. The entry fee for the competition is $10. Registration is from 9-11am in Summit Lodge. Practice will begin at 11am. The competition will begin at noon.

Cardboard Box Derby

A fun filled race in a cardboard box designed by you. The box must be built solely out of cardboard, tape, string, glue, and paper, and must have a braking system. Each box may consist of up to four members. Ages 10 years and up may participate. Registration will be held from 10-11am in the Summit Lodge. Race time is 1pm.

The Barley Boys
