Blue Mountain has increased the snow making capacity between 15%-20%. Snowtubing will have a new building with restroom facilities and a party room.

  • Camelback Mountain Resort, Tannersville. Camelback Mountain Resort’s investment in improvements for this winter will be over $1,250,000. They will invest approximately $150,000 to upgrade their snowmaking system including the purchase of the Polecat for the bottom of the Terrain Park. On the Oak Grove Halfpipe plans to raise the lights on the east side for better visibility; installation of two 650ft handle tows for the Rhodo Terrain Park and the Oak Grove Halfpipe has begun. Upgrades for the Tubing Park include the installation of a Magic Carpet conveyor along with the addition of two single chutes and one family chute raising the count to 14 chutes. The grounds around the ticket office and fire pit will be paved making it cleaner and easier to walk around. Both main lodges have been designated as smoke-free and equipped with free wireless Internet service. In addition, new rental equipment has been purchased for the newest rental system from Head/Tyrolia and the strap-in binding system from Rossignol Snowboards. • Shawnee Mountain, Shawnee on Delaware. After many renovations, snowmaking water storage capacity will reach 12.5 million gallons – an increase in storage of 500%. A new wooden planked steel pedestrian footbridge has been installed over the snowmaking pond in the same location as the older bridge. The new bridge provides easy access from the parking lots to the base area facilities and Ski Lodges. The majority of the 40,000 cubic yards of fill was hauled to, spread, aerated and compacted on the Little Chief and Little Brave Slopes. This created a much larger, flatter and wider new Beginners Area for novice skiers and snowboarders and a contoured Learning Center designed exclusively for Ski and Snowboard Lessons. Two aging beginner chairlifts have been removed and are being replaced with two new carpet conveyor lifts. The new carpet lifts have proven to be very beginner and child friendly.
