The Poconos are brimming with fun and exciting opportunities for families. Families can fish the many lakes or rivers; kayak, canoe, raft or tube the afternoon away; experience Mother Nature and hike, bike and sightsee to their hearts' content. Kids can pet the animals at an animal park; splash around at one of the region's indoor/outdoor waterparks.
Let the kids get out on the water aboard a patio boat and enjoy a cruise as the captain describes the region and the lake's history. Keep your eyes open for the ospreys nest or the glimpse of a striped bass. Grab a Pocono map for those scenic drives and as you go over a bridge, see who can hold his or her breath the longest or let them discover the Milky Way along an overlook at night. Families can go horseback riding; go commando on the paintball field; or ride aboard an old-fashioned train ride. In winter they can slide down the mountain on a snow tube or sled.
From a health and science themed children's museum to outdoor adventures to funky boutique toy stores, the Pocono Mountains is the ideal family vacation destination. Healthy hikes, mountain biking and mountain swimming holes are a blast for the entire family. When it comes to family fun, there's no better place to enjoy the laughter of children... all season long.
