CIVILIAN MILITARY COMBINE

The CMC competition is broken down into three components to test strength, endurance, and agility. Race day structure will consist of "The PIT" (lifting element) into a five mile mountain race with strategically placed military obstacles. This structure is what separates the Civilian Military Combine from all other races and competitions. The PIT is designed to be the great equalizer by leveling the playing field between power athletes and endurance runners to determine the best overall conditioned athlete. This race structure has been carefully created, refined, and reviewed by the top strength and conditioning coaches from the CrossFit community, United States Armed Forces and USA Triathlon Organization Race Directors. The registration fee is $100 per person.

The Pocono Mountains hosts runners for a 26.2 mile marathon through Monroe County. Race day also includes a 5k Road Race and Two Person Marathon Relay. Both offer an exciting alternative to be involved in the event without participating in the full marathon. 100% of the entry fee will go toward disaster relief in Monroe County. MCEEC will be offering weekly walks through the Tannersville Cranberry Bog every Wednesday through June 6. These 2.5 hour walks will be guided by an environmental educator from the Center who will lead you through The Tannersville Bog, a very unique northern boreal bog for this area, owned by The Nature Conservancy. Spring is an excellent time to explore the bog's unique plant life which includes insect-eating plants. The cost is $5/non-members, $3/EE Center or Nature Conservancy members and children under 12. Participants will meet at the Center by 1pm. Please wear appropriate footwear. Pre-registration is required.

MCEEC invites you to join Environmental Educator Darryl Speicher and Dr. Terry Master in an attempt to find 100 species of birds in Monroe County. Meet at the Kettle Creek Wildlife Sanctuary in Bartonsville at 6:30am. With the spring migration in full swing, 100 different species of birds is not out of the question. The cost is $60/non-members, $50/EE Center members and includes all of the day’s transportation, lunch, and a day in the field with Dr. Master one of the foremost bird experts in the region.
